One thing that at first sight resembles a scenario of a horror movie is being kidnapped by the jinn, in many cultures there are stories about this, but what is true of these stories? Is it really possible and has it happened many times and what does the Quran and Sunnah say about this?

Kidnapping by the Djinn

In short, we can say that it is not a myth, and that it is a case that occurs more often than we think of the many people who claim to have been abducted by aliens, for example, we will look at a number of ahadeeth and statements of the scholars about this and also a true story that took place in our time.

Proofs from the Koran and the Sunnah

It was narrated by Imam Muslim who said:

It has been narrated by Mohamed ibn Al-Muthanna, it has been narrated by Abd Al-A3la on the authority of Dawood on the authority of 'Aamir who said:

I asked 'Alqamah: Did ibn Mas'ood (may Allah be pleased with him) experience the night of the jinn with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)? 'Alqamah said, I asked ibn Mas'ood and said to him, did any of you experience the night of the jinn with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)? He said:

No, but we were with Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) that night and we lost him and sought him in the valleys and with the tribes and we said they flew with him (As-Tateer) (the jinn) or an (Aghteela) attack was committed on him, we stayed awake all night, when it was morning again, we saw the Messenger of Allah again. We said, O Messenger of ALLAH, we missed you and we searched for you but couldn't find you, and we stayed up all night. He said: 1 has come to me from the messengers from under the jinn, I went with him and recited some of the Koran for them, then I went on with him and he showed me their traces and the traces of their firing. They asked him (the Messenger of ALLAH) for their food and he said, every bone that has been given the name of ALLAH belongs to your food. When it will be in your hands it will be full of meat and the excrement will be a food for your animals. The Messenger of Allah said to us, do not cleanse yourself with it (dried droppings) because it is the food of your brothers (from under the jinn).

(Saheeh Muslim Kitaab Al-Salat No. 450)

Al-Nawawi said: “His saying“ Astateera ”or“ Aghteela ”the meaning of Astateera the jinn have flown with him, and the meaning of Aghteela is that he was secretly murdered, and Al-Gheela with a kasrah on the“ Gh "implies that he was murdered in secret".

(Sarh Saheeh Muslim Imam Nawawi nr 4,5,6 / 127)

We see in the above hadith that the companions feared that the Prophet (peace be upon him) was killed in secret or that he was kidnapped by the jinn, this proves that this matter was known and was a reality.

On the authority of Ubaid ibn 'Amir who said:

A man was lost in the time of the Khalifat of Omar ibn Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), his wife came to Omar and told him this. He said go ahead and wait for 4 years, she did this and after 4 years she came after him again and he said keep a waiting period of 4 months and 10 days, she did this and then came to him again. He said where is this man's Wali, he said to the wali, give this woman her divorce and he did that. Omar said, go ahead and marry whoever you want. She got married, shortly thereafter her first husband reappeared, Omar told him, where were you? He said, O Amir Al-Momineen, the shayateen had caught me, At ALLAH I did not know where in the countries of ALLAH I was, they made me their slave, until they were attacked by the Muslims (from below the jinn) I belonged to the loot they had obtained, they asked me; You are a man from under man and said were from under the jinn, what about you being with them? I told them my story. They said, in which country of Allah do you wish to be? I said Medina is my country.

Suddenly I found myself looking at the cave (in Medina).

Omar let him choose, if he wishes his wife or if he wishes his dowry, he chose the dowry, she is pregnant, I no longer use him for her.

Shaych Al-Islam ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said;

And the jinn kidnap a lot from under the people and make them disappear from under the eyes of the people and fly with them in the air, and we've seen a lot of these things that would take too long to tell it all.

(Majmoo 'Al-Rasa-al-Kubra nr 2 / 307)

Shaych Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

“And we know many of them in our time and other times, such as a person who is now in Damascus and the shaytan who carries him from Mount Salihiya to a village near Damascus, he comes from the sky to a group in the house where the people are, he enters and they see him, and he comes to a small door in the night and passes through, he and his friends and he belongs to the most wicked people, and last is in a village called Al-Shahida, he flies in the air to the top of the mountain and the people see him, the shaytan carries him and he crosses the roads. ”

Al-Dhahabi says in his biography of Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah: Al-Asma'i said:

It was narrated from Sulayman ibn Bilal, on the authority of Abi Rijae who said: Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah was killed in Shaam by the jinn with 2 arrows.

Al-Dhahibi said: Al-Waaqidi said: We have been handed down from Yahya ibn Abd Al-Aziz of the son of Sa'd under the authority of his father who said: Sa'd died by 2 arrows, 2,5 years after the khilafa from Omar. No one knew about his death in the medina until they heard a boy say from a well:

We have killed the lord of Khazraj Sa'd ibn Ubadah And we have thrown 2 arrows and have not missed his heart.

The boy was shocked and remembered that day, he had found him the day he (Sa'd ibn Ubadah) died. He was sitting and peeing in a hole, he died in that moment, he found him and his skin turned bluish.

It has been reported by Qatadah on the authority of Abdullah ibn Sirzis (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

"Don't let any of you urinate in a hole"

Al-Qatadah said: And why is it not allowed to urinate in a cave? Because it is said to be the jinn's whereabouts.

(Albaani Saheeh declared Tarheeb wa Targheeb nr 150)

After all these ahadeeth and scholars' statements, we must know that there is also evidence from the Quran that the jinn have powers to move large objects in a short time and over long distances

Allah the Exalted says in Surah Al-Naml verse 38-39:

Interpretation:

He (Solomon) said, "O nobles, who among you will bring me a suitable throne for her before she comes to me submissively?"

An Ifrite of the jinn said, "I will bring these to you before you rise from your camp, and I have power over it, and I am trustworthy."

Shaych Abderrahman Al-Sa'di (may Allah have mercy on him) said in his tabernacle of this verse:

Al-Ifreet is a very strong (jinn), and he says, and it appears (from the lyrics) that Sulayman (peace be upon him) when he was in Shaam, is between him and Saba a distance of about 4 months, 2 months back and 2 months back, but despite this, this ifreet says: I will come back with it (the throne) even though it is big and heavy and far away even before you get up from where you are sitting.

Types of abductions

When we talk about kidnapping by the jinn, there are 2 types:

Abductions without showing themselves to man in a certain form.

This is especially the case with the awliyaa of the shaytan such as certain mushrikeen from the rawafeed and other mushrik sektes and groups. They fly through the air and stab themselves with knives and the like, when they fly through the air it seems as if they are flying through the air but in reality the shayateen are holding them and flying with them through the air, with this mushrikeen it is no kidnapping but they ask the shayateen for help and do kufr deeds for their exchange for this help.

True story:

A kidnapping of the jinn who took place in our time was about a mother in Oman who had a child of 5 years, the child played busy and screamed through the house and broke something in the house, the mother was busy with the household and her patience ran out and she got angry and hit the child and locked the child crying in the toilet.

She heard the child cry all the time and scream very loudly, she couldn't take it anymore and after a few minutes she opened the door, the crying was still there but her child was gone, she panicked and looked in the toilet but nothing could be found and went to get her neighbors for help, they heard the crying but they also saw no child.

She got help and a scholar was called in. Shaych Ahmed Al-Khalili, the mother told the shaych what had happened, and he told her that her son was kidnapped by the jinn, she had to wait 3 for days, if after 3 days did not come back then she had to do the death prayer for him, after 3 days the crying stopped, the child did not come back!

Kidnappings in which they show themselves to humans

This is especially the case with idiots who call on the djinn, such as those who are involved in playing ouja board games, for example, or such as the new hype the charlie charlie hype (later an article on this insha ALLAH). But also those who call a jinn or a jinnia to have fellowship with, it sounds crazy but there are really idiots who do this.

Things to avoid

• Urinating in a hole or hole
• Entering the toilet without saying the dua for the toilet
• Pouring hot water into a gutter without first calling out the name of ALLAH
• Walking in dark spaces without first calling out the name of ALLAH
• Jumping on the ground without first calling out the name of ALLAH
