The different types of practitioners from Sihr

Below insha ALLAH a list of different practitioners of sihr, one often thinks only of the sahir, but there are several branches in sihr, so a sahir can practice different branches or specifically specialize in 1 branch, may the curse of ALLAH on them all to be.

For all these things the following 2 ahadeeth of our Prophet (peace be upon him) applies, with a very clear warning to those who get it in their head to go to this kind of scum!

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“The person who goes to a clairvoyant and asks him about something (without
believe in him), his prayer will not be accepted for 40 days
to become"
(Saheeh Muslim Kitaab Al-Salaam)

Abu Hureira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that
Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“The person who visits a clairvoyant or fortuneteller and believes what he says has committed unbelief in what is
revealed (Quran) to Muhammad.
(Musnad imam Ahmed 4 / 68, hadeeth is Saheeh).

1: Al-Sha'wadah: magician / illusionist:

- Ibn Mandhur said: Al-Sha'wadah is dexterity (juggling) and touching (something) just like sihr, seeing something contrary to what it is with the eye (ilussie).

2: Al-Kaahin: Fortune-teller:

- Ibn Hajar said: Al-Khattabi said: Al-Kahanah are people with psychic mind and numb soul, and fiery character resembling the character of the Shayateen, because of the similarities they have on these matters (kufr and shirk) , and because of helping each other with whatever they can do, and in the times of ignorance (A-Djaahiliyyah) their practices were widespread, especially because of the lack of Prophethood at that time.

- Ibn Mandhur said: Al-Kaahin is the one who claims to know the future with objects, and claims to be able to find out the secrets (of people).
Al-Zuhri said: And there were Kaahinaat among the Arabs even before the time when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was sent, when our Prophet was sent and the heavens were guarded by arrows (which the Angels shoot) made it impossible for the jinn and the shayatan to pick up information (to intercept) and give it to Al-Kahanah, as a result of which the teachings of the Kahanah failed and ALLAH destroyed the falsity of Al-Kaheen through the Furqan (Al-Quran) ) with which Allah the Exalted makes clear the distinction between truth and falsehood.

3: Al-'Aarafah: Clairvoyant:

- Ibn Hajr said: Al-'Araaf is the one who by means of numbers (symbols) (claims) to know the answer about unseen matters by means of (the combination) certain actions or words.
(Fath Al-Baari 1 / 217)

- Al-Baghawi said: Al-'Araaf is the one who claims to know things through certain things from which he gets knowledge on the spot, such as from someone who has been robbed, who is the thief, and the place where something has been lost.

4: Al-Ta'zeemat: Shirk spells (this does not mean the roqyah with the Koran and Sunnah):

- Ibn Mandhur said: Al-'Azimah is from Ruqa (roqyah), with which they recite with certain spells on the jinn, and the plural is Al-'Azaaeem: It is said, 'Azama al-raaqi, which means just like he spells about a disease.

- Al-Qarafi said: And the origin of Al-Aqsaam and Al-Ta'zeem was done with arbitrary names which they claimed were the names of the Angels who gave Sulayman (peace be upon him) sovereignty over various jinn tribes , when one said a spell containing the name (of the Angel) then the jinn was obliged to do as they pleased.

5: Al-Talaseem: Symbols of shirk and kufr (devil language):

- Al-Qarafi said: Al-Talaseemaat are special names used as spells and claimed to have to do with the planets, and these (symbols) were hung around their bodies and they were made of metal and other materials, and they claimed to have special powers.

6: Al-Awqaaf: (predictions through calculations):

- Al-Qarafi said: Al-Awqaaf are quantities (numbers, symbols) that one puts in different special geometric shapes, they claim that whoever puts (draws) this on a piece of paper and carries it with him, it will make for an easy childbirth, or conquering an army over another, or causing a prisoner to be released from prison, etc.

7: Al-Tanjeem: Astrology such as horoscopes:

- Ibn Mandhur said: Al-Tanjeem in language means looking at the stars, and in the professional term it means: Claiming to have knowledge of what is going to happen on Earth through the events of the celestial bodies (stars / planets)
