This is a story that shows us what the power of the evil eye is.
A brother living in Saudi Arabia was known to the people for his long beard. The people around him often concerned themselves with his beard with statements such as, "shorten your beard!" "Shave your beard!" etc. Until he got hit by al-3ayn regarding his beard.
His beard changed and shrank. It felt like WOOD! He couldn't comb it or get it apart.
After being patient for months, Allah has healed him. He had not taken his beard away even though he had an Islamic valid reason.
When asked what he would have done about his beard being back to normal he said: “I was in Medina / Mecca and was daily engaged in istighfaar (asking for forgiveness) and prayer for the prophet sws (Allaahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa' ala alali Muhammad kama salayta 'ala Ibraaheem wa' ala alali Ibraaheem, innaka hameedun majeed. Allaahumma alik 'ala Muhammad wa' ala alali Muhammad kama aldera 'ala Ibraaheem wa' ala alali Ibraaheem, innaka hameedun majeed )
The more I said it, the looser my beard became until it was old.
